Monday Night Bent

Thanks anonymous for your comment, comments make blogging much more enjoyable so thanks once again.

Yesterday somehow ended up with 4 of us in Watty on a student night, there were no prior plans of this but I think everyone was feeling festive and in the need for a few more drinks. Watford was jammed, absolutely heaving, the queue for Area was actually unbelieveable it spanned half the high street! We opted for Chicagos and got in free, which was a bonus, and upon arrival saw at the bar it bar ftse was being played (or equivalent game) where basically the prices for drinks change throughout the evening as displayed on the tv screens at the bar. At university this was done but drinks only ever went up in price defeating the point all together. This however was run well, and I snapped up a bargain Sol for £1.10 and then a Solitos for £0.95! Bargain! Unfortunately some of my group weren't playing properly and stuck to Vodka Diet Coke, no names mentioned (Simon) meaning that we should have really stuck to ordering our own drinks!

The bar was relatively quiet but with a glow coming from the dancefloor of the reflection of the light off peoples braces! I couldn't quite believe how young people looked all with braces, made me feel old, god knows what Luke and Simon must have been feeling like. Kieron and I played it cool at the bar while the other two danced and then all of a sudden they disappeared, I asked Kieron where they were to which he replied I don't know but watch this it's funny. Some weedy looking twirp was being held by the throat by a 6ft bald headed tough nut. The rest of the bald guys friends were equally as menacing all shouting at him and pushing him. We watched intrigued to see the final outcome which resulted in the guy walking up and shaking Luke by the hand. We went over to find out what had happened and apparently the guy had nicked Luke's drink and the bald guys had seen and stuck up for Simes and Luke (not before the guy pushed Simon away by the head). Good work baldies!!

Simon also headbutted me last night whilst dancing which resulted in more pain for him than me which I was quite proud of, however the story of the night has got to be how cool Kieron is. Kieron for those of you that don't know him is tall, goodlooking, and been at University in America for the past 3 years. He is what you call a stud, he sleeps with more women than I have hot dinners and is never short of a story (such as pulling at midget wrestling, but thats a story for another day). There was one girl in the club that was reasonable, the rest were either far to young or fat and we had eyed her up throughout the evening, Kieron had been silent, watching at the bar. By the end of the night we instructed him to proove his worth and get her number, to which he gently ran his fingers through his golden locks, adjusted his jacket and strolled confidently onto the dancefloor. He then simply said to her 'my friends and I are just leaving and I just wanted to say your beautiful, and it would be a disaster if I left tonight without finding out your name'...'Claire' she replied...'Does that also mean I can have your number?'...'Maybe'...'Maybe yes or maybe no? asked Kieron..'Maybe yes' as she delved into her bag, produced her phone and exchanged numbers, by the time we had left and entered the car she had ALREADY text him. What a man!

Tonight Curry and Booze hopefully its going to be a good one!

Weekend

Well since the ridiculous night out on Wednesday and a drunken post with a ridiculous amount of grammatical and spelling errors I have had a few better nights out.

Thanks firstly to my two readers J and Mark for the comments on my last post. If I have any other readers please stay in touch. Thursday saw a trip to London and a visit to Daz's bitches. 5 or 6 girls that would not put him down all night it was great viewing, unfortunately only about 2 or 3 were friendly but they seemed nice, the others seemed shy and 1 was rude, not mentioning any names of course. The evening ended with Daz giving J one of the girl’s numbers and then a few texts thrown back and forth resulting in a rude response from one of the girls we thought was friendly.

Friday saw a great game played between J and I online. Try this yourselves guys as the excitement was fantastic. Name every place you know that you would consider going to for the night and then one at a time eliminate a place. Some places I felt were real possibilities went out early leaving some unexpected ones remaining. Final few included Verve (we had been there the night before and it's up in London) Watty (last time i'd been here I was left very disappointed) Moons (Been there the last two Fridays) Jolle (Haven't been there since sixth form) and Uxbridge (What's in Uxbridge again?) anyway... Verve was eliminated as it did stick out like a sore thumb. Uxbridge and Jolle were the final two and as we both picked a different winner we decided to call it on a toss of a coin. I then changed my mind and we opted for Jolle via Bargain Booze, Black 'Orse and Woodman and losing plenty of money on the addictive Monopoly quiz game.

Saturday was an interesting one. I had agreed to go to London with Chopper and had a possible from Darren, Carl and Kieron. All attended and we jumped on the train to Covent Garden, a drink in a reasonable cocktail bar called Detroit was enjoyable before heading to Henry’s. Inside was packed and I somehow got served quickly. The others however, had a stinker. They had only just got their drinks as Carl and I were finishing ours. The funniest moment in the bar had to come with one very angry man at the bar, This fat skin head bought a Mohito and pint, the pint was gone in seconds and the cocktail perched on the table all alone, we soon realised he was not happy as he kept looking at his watch cursing to himself, shaking his head and fiddling with the other drink. It was obvious he was waiting for someone, but who? We eagerly watched the door but everyone who entered ignored him and went on with their night. We got caught looking, laughing and pointing at him a few times as he threw his hands in the air and was seen mumbling ‘for fuck sake’. He ordered another pint and unfortunately we had to leave before his friend arrived. Our last stop of the night was to a club called Jewel. I had got us on the guest list and we all walked in for free which was a great start, found us a chair and I think everyone seemed to enjoy the place, would definitely go back their again was very enjoyable. Kieron even showed how cool he was by pulling after he had fallen asleep, I mean honestly, how many men can get a girls attention and asking him if he was OK when asleep! Earlier in the night he was describing his shagging conquests and when asked how he chatted up a lady we were informed he simply would sniff them, cue lots of randomly sniffing girls and eachother throughout the night. We left caught the last train, jumped off at Kings Cross to catch the Met, missed it, caught the Hammersmith and City, got off at Baker St and somehow jumped on the Met we had earlier missed! What a result, unfortunately the high fives and beaming faces were soon cut short when a knob jumped on the line at Harrow causing over an hour delay!

I am aware this is more of a diary entry than a blog post, with lots of details of what I have been doing rather than opinions and discussions which I will act to change in future posts but one final point of note..

My day of rest had been pencilled in my diary as Sunday, no night out planned, just a nice Sunday Roast…..this was never going to last and I was soon down the club with a pint watching football. The moment that sticks out is when I persuaded Daz to get another round in and his response got to me. Please bare in mind that alongside J, Daz is what I would call a hardened drinker who is out every night drinking to excess much like myself, here are his words to me…Alex I’m getting worried, I think you’re an alcoholic I wasn’t going to drink at all! Anyway gotta go get ready as I’m down the club for a few beers this evening. Ciao for now!

SHI@T

02:02am

Well I wasn't expecting this post... After a few weeks without posting and only one recent post I said to myself earlier I should create a new post....but what about? Unfortunately I have just the thing to talk about.

Set the scene... a moderately filled pub in the suburbs of London. Two of our friends had left before closing orders much unlike the usuals that would arrive on such occasion. We decided to go to the bar for our last beverage and looked disapprovingly onward at the fowl mouthed teenagers as they danced 'in the loosest shape of the term' around the tiny dance floor. As the bar was emptying I heard the yobish chanting you would expect to hear on the terraces 'but not a local pub' so we looked disapprovingly onward until some sort of fight broke out....At this time we were round the corner and do not know what started it or what exactly happened (if this was a police interview I would be thinking this was very convienient...wrong...annoying!!). It wasn't til the sound of breaking glass and screams that we decided to leave. Following Daz out of the fire escape onto the main road I said a brief goodbye to Daz before heading West down the highstreet with Gareth.

The fight broke out onto the road and at that time G and I intregely looked on. It wasn't until one guy was on the floor and another guy hurling a chair around his head I realised this was something more than your usual pub disagreement. The guy continued to whack the chair into the other guys head, while unmoving on the floor he took kick after kick of this guys friends kicks!!!! I picked up the phone and called 999. Suddenly two people I did not know appeared amongst and me. I hung up not willing to say anything not knowing who they were. One I believe was from the fight wishing not to be involved, the other, an acquaintance of G Dor. The fight continued and I was aware of screams of a knife and a Stanley blade were heard (not the sort of thing to ease the situation). Quickly phoned 999 again answering that I required an Ambulance (to which I was told there is already one to that address, how is the patient? I was asked.) U FONEING THE FUCKIN ROSSERS I heard as one of the young hooligans came toward me. I quickly said 'How long to a cab to Harrow?' trying to look like I'd not heard the Knob. I then heard 'he's phoning a cab' from G dor as a punch landed upon my chin. Fortunately they scarpered. THANK GOD!!!! At that moment I did not quite know what to think although I feel I was ready to run fast. Luckily they left and we were stood in the doorway of the pub alone. A distraught girl then came to us saying she was scared and could we help (trying to drag us away) we said she could stay with us but we were not moving. She disappeared unsatisfied with our heroic attempts (and before you ask she wasn't even fit and her banter was as far as I know...shit!). We mooched over toward the blood stained body on the road as I received a call back from the switchboard directing questions such as, is the person still breathing? Are there visible open wounds? Are they conscious? To which I replied that he was breathing and quickly getting to his feet! (How on earth he was doing this after several blows to the head by a chair, kicks to the head, potential knife wounds and God knows what else, I don't know?)

A police van arrived and police headed straight inside the pub. I was amazed they didn't seem interested about the guy that had been on the floor but by then he had run off with his mate exclaiming worry for his friend that the others had 'got to'. Apparently a guy inside had been glassed in the side of the neck....Another van arrived before promptly leaving off somewhere else...still no ambulance. G Dor and I stood there taking everything in not sure what to do for the best. We then opted to leave and gingerly edged to the end of the high street. At the end we saw another two police vans so as they were on the way home we walked onwards... As we walked past we saw a youngster head down on the floor being bandaged by a policewoman as a guy from the other group was being talked to by the male policeman. The guy had blood dripping from his head and a Sylar style gash across his forehead (any Heroes fans will understand) that made of an instrument such as a Stanley knife!

As we past the incident I noticed a car with its lights on standstill in the lay by facing the event, as G Dor walked by he noticed a guy who had been involved in the incident walking toward the police vans. Questioning whether he should say anything I mentioned the dodgy looking car and we walked on. The car soon drove off. We got home sharpish and here I am now. Was not expecting a night like this in the slightest.

On the upside Daz and I made a remarkable comeback at a board game!!! Also I have decided I will not be going to the said bar for NYE!!

Incedentally, if this isn't a post worth a Comment on I may cease blogging. P.S. Please don't comment on the way it was written as I'm still pissed and it is the early hours afterall!!

Back Home

It's been far too long since my last post so sorry for that avid readers.

I am now back home which is good and bad at the same time. On the good side it is great to see all my mates again and catch up on the madness I have been missing, also as it is getting closer to Christmas everyone seems to be a bit cheerier than at other times of the year, that means there is lots of excuse to go for a cheeky pint. On the bad side I have two essays hanging over my head, why they can't set these earlier in the term or after Christmas I don't know but they seem to do it every year just to wreck the holidays, also on a negative note all of my friends have now got jobs, good for them but bad for me, it means there is rarely a full crowd out on the same night and regularly there is only one or two of us going out. Finally multiple drinking sessions means paying for them so my wallet has been hit pretty hard and I haven't even been back a week yet!!

Things that piss me off:

Black Pete
Wray Ashman
Lowlands Beer

Things that make me happy:

Religious quiz questions
RE lock ins
Chris Hoy winning sports person of the year

Regarding my last point, we were watching the awards at the club last night and as they introduced Lewis Hamilton they kept showing Theo Walcott in the crowd, now he could well be his best mate I don't know but it made us laugh that the first person in the crowd that they were to show was also a slightly black young Englishman with dodgy sideburns!

Other points of note from the week so far was an extremely nice lock in at a local bar. We entered after last orders were told we were cheeky gits for wanting to get served and then were encouraged to keep drinking by the friendly owner even if he was telling us to F off every round! We also this week found out that Du Casse has met and shaken the hand of the one and only Dorian Yates. He had earlier night asked how well I knew Jay Cutler because he is a friend on my facebook haha. Hopefully the week ahead will bring lots of fresh bent and I am eagerly anticipating it although I can say my wallet does not feel the same necessity to consistently go out.

Slacking

My sincere apologees for my lack of blogging, I have been and still am a very busy boy at uni I won't bore you with the fine details but a combination of essays, presentations, exams and general crap organisation skills of lecturers have not increased my Christms spirit as yet.

Last weekend was good though, I came back for Lauren's birthday outing which was on the Saturday, prior to this I managed a couple of rushed pints with the boys who were off to LA and chops who was away over the weekend, we had a nice group cuddle which prompted some curiosity from the onlookers. Friday saw me take a trip to Harrow with Simon for a bit of Christmas shopping, I don't think he fully appreciated my gay bent but I had been lacking since the last time I had seen anyone and then the evening saw a trip to the Vic (which was poo) and then onto Moons with Gary and Hodgson. This quiet night out turned out to be a not quite so quiet night as we drank into the early hours and resulted in a very pissed and subsequently hungover Tom and Gary. Saturday was the big day to Guanabara in London, it included a very odd crowd of a mixture of people that in theory should not have really worked but somehow did. An old man, well 2 if you count Simon haha, a fat arab, women, people's exs very strange.

There has been no betting recently because I am completely uninspired...only the shit tennis players are playing at the moment and the world of football has been crazy. Just ridiculous results week in week out. Liverpool being booed off the pitch after going top of the premiership just summed it up really. I think I will continue to hold off betting until either football has calmed down a bit or I start to get excited by X-Factor!

It's December and I achieved my own persoal target of avoiding listening to a full Christmas song before the 1st, I'm not a scrooge as I love Christmas but despise how early it arrives each year. December the 1st is when it starts eating advent chocolate, watching the girls put up the tree and investing in some Christmas beer and mince pies! So I am now exceedingly excited to get back for Christmas and Christmas bent. Pointless and fancy dress two major pissups. I did have an idea that amused myself about mixing the two together....Can you imagine a whole group of people all dressed up as tramps but on their own in the middle of London? Set the scene.... Bar OnAnon 6 tramps finish their cocktails and leave all in different directions, one tramp enters Cheers to be greated by another tramp already in their giving him the finger shouting 'I got here first now fuck off'. Imagine the looks on peoples faces when sat in a busy Nag's head pub as they point at a tramp and ask their friend 'why's that guy dressed as a tramp...and on his own' then imagine the amusement when he gets up and leaves only for a different tramp to arrive in the same pub half an hour later! Anyway I can't see this ever happening but as long as we get the two nights in somewhere over Christmas with a decent attendance it will keep me happy!!

Confused

This week finds me a little confused. Lot's of things going on at university at the moment and it's all a bit baffling, I shant bore you with the details but fingers crossed it gets better soon. Football is also very odd, can anyone explain how the gooners can put in a performance like we did against United one week ago, followed up by our schoolboys giving an established premiership team a beating and then get completely dicked on by Villa yesterday? Tennis is barmy as well Andy Murray beats Federer wins his group easily and then gets thumped by Simon. As for my Davydenko bet, I was really pleased to see him go through the group and after a little discussion with J as to the possibility of laying a different amount other than £5 or £10 I decided that his chances of winning were slim so I intended to lay him so if he did end up winning I would get my £5 stake returned and if he lost I would win a very healthy £140, somehow (do not ask me how, as I have been kicking myself since) I cocked up the bet and managed to win £8.80 for him losing and lost £5 from him not winning. You can imagine my mood after cheering on Djokovic in the final and then finding out I actually wanted Davydenko to win after all. Not pleased, but at least I came away with a bit of money I suppose.

Weekend was reasonably good, although there is a lot of work on at the moment I gave up my Saturday and Sunday to help my friend move into his new house in Newcastle. This concluded in a night out in the toon. Previous visits to Newcastle have been somewhat disappointing, mainly due to not having a clue where to go and ending up in a 80s bar with lots of older women dressed very inappropriately, however this time we got a guided tour from a local on out course before he went home, followed by a second tour of all the local hotspots by a stripper who is also on our course, she had the added advantage of knowing all the bouncers of the local bars and wangled us in free everywhere, even telling the bouncers to remember us to let us in when she was no longer there. Seeing as I am pretty sure I only have about 2 readers and neither are women I can quite easily say they have it soooo easy. How does having big boobs give you any more right to get into a bar free over anyone else, anyway this could be a post for another day. Ultimately the night was really good, started drinking in Jesmond (a rather posh town not far from Newcastle) whilst watching the Rugby at about 3pm 12 hours later we were still going strong and it is quite possibly the most pissed I have been since the first day of our holiday. We guessed we had something like 15pints and my memories of the evening are somewhat sketchy as you can imagine I did not feel to great come Sunday morning. Good stuff though. As J has just said on his blog I too should try and make these posts a little more exciting and I will do my best very soon particularly once I get bored working.
