Illness

Illness is a funny thing, I have seen several different types of illness over the last few weeks on placement and it has resulted in most of them being miserable as you would expect. I have just come down with a bit of a stinker of a cold and as much as you can never really enjoy having a cold I would say that understandably depending on who you are with or what you do can make you feel a lot better. Although my cold is annoying and I'm not going to moan on about it, I quite happily got up and made it in to work this morning, as to be honest I would much rather a day not feeling well at work getting marked or paid on it than feeling miserable at home. In other words isn't it worth taking a few days off over the space of a year when your not ill actually doing something you want to do i.e. long weekend, day out somewhere etc and brave it in on a day your not feeling 100% rather than not feeling 100% at home when all you have to do is sit and watch shit on TV? Obviously this has been made slightly worse than usual due to the fact my supervisor sent me home today as me spluttering over the patients wasn't a good look and I'm in Lincoln so I can't even go down the club and drown my sorrows with some of the boys. Anyway think I'm still going to be coughing and sneezing tomorrow so probably will not be allowed in to work at all. Guess I should get thinking of what I will spend all day on my own doing. All suggestions on a postcard.
