One Mental Weekend

Have just finished reading J's blog on the pros and cons of going out to London and staying locally to drink and I must confess I do enjoy both. Unfortunately being a student and having no money doesn't help however it is good to have a bit of a blow out every once in a while. In my opinion the biggest downside is the money that is spent. As you are aware we are off to Tenerife soon and it should be brill and I'm probably going to take Under £300 worth of drinking money for 7 night's entertainment...on Friday I could have quite easily done a third of that in one night!!!
Anyway Friday was really good, we went to Guanabara a Brazilian bar in Holborn and boogied the night away to the sound of steel drums. I think everyone got battered (some more than others) some pictures were taken (of some people more than others) and I think everyone had a really good night. In comparison yesterday Simon and I trotted up to a local pub got pretty wasted considering we only started drinking at 10 and had a really good night locally until we returned back to Eastcote. This is where the night turned sour, whilst sat on a bench quietly minding our own business discussing the woes of the world some local yob decided it would be a good idea to run up and punch Simon in the face!!!! I don't think either of us could quite believe what happened. They must have been lurking around us for ages without us knowing with no motive other than being a dick! After this we were both on our feet when they came around from the corner again lurching towards us. One hoodie menacingly bowling in that ridiculous manner towards me and the other guy who had punched Simon heading towards him. At this point neither of us knew quite what to do...did they want to mug us? were they carrying any weapons other than their fists? how many more of them were round the corner? were they trying to lure us into attacking them only to be set upon by more of the social delinquents? As it turned out Simon ended up taking another blow for the team on the arm and as they ran back round the corner to gloat to their mates we headed off in the other direction to avoid any further confrontation. What angered me the most is how unprovoked it was and how normally there would be a good few of us on a night out or in Sams who would be more than happy to scare off the local scum. Anyway drinks at Gareth's later so that is another local night to look forward to, might get a cab home though don't want to get beaten up!
